Team Spotlight: Rita Bendinskiene
This week we spoke to Facilities Co-ordinator Rita Bendinskiene about her career in the cleaning and facilities industry and life at Elevare. She also shares advice for anyone pursuing a career in the facilities industry in Ireland.
Rita joined the cleaning and facilities management team at Elevare in January of 2020, based in our Cork office, servicing the Munster region. With over 20 years’ industry experience, Rita is responsible for the cleaning and facilities division, coordinating over 150 clients and 100 employees.
How has Covid-19 impacted your day-to-day role?
I joined the team here just as Covid-19 hit, of course it’s been such a tough year and a bit for everyone across the country and beyond, and certainly affected many of our clients early on.
However, I must say it’s been great to be part of such a friendly and focussed team who’ve adapted constantly to respond to client needs. We’re actually hiring at the moment, you can find out more about the roles here.
What are some key trends you are seeing in your area of expertise?
I’ve always been driven by providing a quality service with high standards so it’s great to have a team who are so committed to the same. Since Covid-19 we have certainly seen an increase in the overall awareness of the importance of quality cleaning services for reducing risks for businesses.
Cleanliness in all public and office environments is definitely more front of mind for everyone. For example, one off deep cleans for commercial and corporate settings are now becoming the norm, particularly before bringing customers and employees back into these spaces.
If you had to give one piece of advice to someone starting out in your industry, what would it be?
Be enthusiastic and willing to learn from others, and remember you are providing an essential service for clients, attention to detail is really important. Consistency is the key to lasting client relationships.
